No, they don't, but they do access the same NASs. |

There's no difference in file permissions on the folders on the NAS including the folder that can't be accessed? _________________ --

No.
I thought about this before I first posted in this forum.
I looked very closely at this and I can't see any difference.
Is there any more detail of my setup that you might find useful? |

raistlin295 - if I may join in again as I have the same problem, is this a recent issue, i.e. just started in the last week or so but wasa running fine before that?
I'm having the similar issues my desktop will communicate with the NAS BUT is refusing, inside VVEngine, to communicate with another desktop for which I have access and adminstrator priviledges - even though everything fine in VVPro.
I had this problem a few weeks ago after having to replace pc's my primary hard disc and spent hours trying to resolve. Then suddenly it resolved itself - don't know how which is worrying but I suspect that some windows update ran - when you reinstall windows it takes many days before all the updates get installed, and I wondered if that had soemthing to do with it.
If there has been a recent windows update pehaps some paramater has changed? |

@ micornelius.
No, this profile has always had the same problem in VVE., although, as you say, it works perfectly well in VV. |

raistlin295 - then whilst our problems are similar they are not exactly the same.
However the underlying question remains why do the profiles work in VVPro but fail once introduced into VVEngine.
Can someone at VV please explain? |

Hi, Windows Vista (and all Windows operative systems since then such as Windows 7, 8, Server 2008, 2012 etc) introduced User Account Control (UAC), more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Account_Control
Under UAC applications do not run as administrator even if one is logged in as Administrator: it needs to be explicitly allowed.
The culprit is that VVEngine runs automatically as Administrator all the times, while ViceVersa does not. Hence what ViceVersa can "see" may be different from VVEngine. You can force ViceVersa to run as Administrator by right clicking on the ViceVersa icon and select "run as administrator". In that case ViceVersa will "see" the same as VVEngine.
This also includes mapped drives, that ViceVersa could "see" but VVEngine may not, see: http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item93.htm
In that case it's better to use UNC paths instead.

Hi,
I note your instructions above but I'm confused as to why some of my profiles both source and target but this one profile cannot see target.
FYI, When I run VV "as administrator" it doesn't see the target either and if I select to "create target" at that point it tells me "inaccessible".
What can I do next please? |

Further info:-
If I set UAC to it's minimum value, the profile works. I have tested this by setting and re-setting the UAC value.
So that might be a guide for further diagnosis.
Clearly, I can't run my PC in the long term with the UAC effectively disabled. |

I can't see that the info in the link applies as it is only the one folder.
I've tried changing folders and deleting the old one, including changing name and that didn't help.
I can access the folder with Notepad either as an admin or not. |

Target not found:-
\\NSA325-V2\Volume 2\Moviesplus Backup
Source found:-
\\NSA325-V2\video\moviesplus
Other folders from other profiles:-
\\QNAP\Backup Drive 2
\\QNAP\Video
\\QNAP\Download\Transmission\Completed.
Please note that I tried to use a folder on the QNAP device as a substitute for the "Target not found" and it was still not found. |

Both created and both accessible to VV Pro but not to VVE when chosen as target folder in a profile. |
