Folders don't seem to be copied across in backups.
That is, if I have a photographic image in a folder of a particular id no and then copy another folder to the same destination, a new image with the same id no will be overwritten???
Am I missing something? |

Too hurried in my previous explanation... sorry.
If I have folder no.1 with images of say DSC_001 to DSC_020, and folder no. 2 with images with id of DSC-001 to DSC_050, and then backup both folders, the images will not be copied across under their separate folders. And what is troubling is that images with the same id no. will be overwritten, and potentially lost.
Most backup programs will copy folder names and all images within.
Thank you for your help. |

Hi, thanks for clarifyng, when you want to backup multiple folders, eg c:\folderA and c:\folderB to b:\ , setup VV in this way:
c:\folderA -> b:\folderA
and
c:\folderB -> b:\folderB
if you use
c:\folderA -> b:\
and
c:\folderB -> b:\
ViceVersa thinks you want to put all your images in b:\ and if 2 images have the same name they will get overwritten. _________________ --

Many thanks for your rapid response.
Sounds logical....but would it not be more normal for folder names to be copied as well? |
