|
|
Hi
I need to mirror files from a source to multiple targets.
For the first target drive, files which are changed or deleted from the source can be changed or deleted on the target.
However, for the second target drive, files which are deleted or changed on the source can not be deleted or changed on the second target drive. Simply put, that if a file is deleted or changed on the source, a new version of the file is created on the target or not deleted on the target.
How can i set it up so i will be able to tell which is the oldest and newest file?
Many thanks

Can you clarify this point with an example? thanks _________________ --

Well if a file was changed on the source, rather than overwriting the file on the target, a new file with the changes would be created on the target. |

That is not possible with VV. You could still copy the file and archive the previous target file to an archive folder, but copy with a new name in the target is not possible. thanks _________________ --

Well archiving the previous version is still good. What would happen to the file when it is archived? Is it zipped or just placed in another folder? |

The old target file, instead of being overwritten, is moved to the archive folder. The name given is the file name plus the timestamp of when it was moved. You can compress files in the archive folder if needed.
See http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item22.htm
In ViceVersa PRO the archive options are in the profile settings.
For compression see compression / encryption options in the profile settings. _________________ --
