|
|
My source files are on a local drive and are NTFS
My target files are on a network using a Netgear SC101 containing a Hitachi Deskstar 250GB drive with an ATA Ultra 133 interface. The Viceversa program shows that the SC101 uses a DATAPLOW_ZFS file system.
The problem that I have is that all the zero length source files are given a 1982 timestamp when copied to the target directory irrespective of their source timestamp and for the rest some, but not all, of the target files are given a current time stamp rather than the time stamp in the source directory. Consequently a compare always reads these files as different and copies them all every time.
NB if I copy the source files to the target in windows explorer they show the correct timestamp.
The profile settings I am using are:
Folders
- Source: "C:\User\" (Archived)
- Target: "N:\user\" (Archived)
- Include Subfolders: Yes
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
- Ignore 2 seconds difference
Execution
- Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
- Archive deleted/replaced source files to: "C:\ViceVersaArchive\"
- Archive deleted/replaced target files to: "N:\ViceVersaArchive\"
- Move files to archive folders (instead of copying)
- Archive max. 4 copies per file
- Remove archive copies older than 60 day(s)
- Append Source/Target path to archive folder(s)
- Speed: 100 Buffer Size: 32768 (flush the buffer every write)
- Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
- Copy directly to destination file (do not use a temporary file)
- Try to copy files that are in use by other applications
- Use 'Volume Shadow Copy' to copy open files for source
- Verify successful file copy by checking file CRC
- No empty source/target check
- Replace newer target files with older source files (backup only)

Hi ,
It looks like VV is not compatible with your NAS, but we would like to debug this further. Could you please send your e-mail address to support@tgrmn.com so we can send you a special version of ViceVersa?
thank you! _________________ --
