I'm trying to construct a backup rule that only backups a few subdirectories of a certain directory. One thing that is not clear to me and which is also not explained in the manual is the precedence of the various rules. Could you please clarify / confirm the following:
1. If Include Subfolder is unchecked in the Source / Target selection dialog box, both inclusion and exclusion subfolder filters have no effect.
2. If Include Subfolders is checked in the Source / Target selection dialog box, and no Subfolder Filters are specified, all subdirectories are included in the backup.
3. If Include Subfolders is checked in the Source / Target selection dialog box, and one or more include Subfolder Filters are specified, only the subfolders specified in the include subfolder filters will be included in the backup. This means that if only a single Subfolder Filter occurs that VV assumes that all subfolders in the directory must be explicitly included even if the include subfolders main switch is on.
I'd like this to be added to the manual, since it's critical to the program's operation.
Thanks for explaining
