I am using VV Pro 2 version 2010 (registered). My profile is mirroring a network drive onto a local drive. I also have archiving set, to keep up to 5 copies in a separate archive directory. The profile always ends with errors because it cannot create the archive directories. Part of the log reads:

...

2006-08-31 04:00:00 : **** No archive for deleted/replaced source files

Containing folder could not be created.] [ERROR].
...
etc.

After this runs, the Archive directory (E:\Rich L\Archive\) does not exist. I've tried creating it first, but as this profile log shows, VV Pro is deleting it first. Any clues to how to fix this?

Profile File: e:\visa versa profiles\Rich L A45 Backup.fsf
I'm not sure this is what you want, but I don't see a way to attach a file to a message in this bulletin board:

Folders
- Source: "C:\ral files\"
- Target: "E:\Rich L\" (Compressed) (Archived)
- Include Subfolders: Yes
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
- Ignore 2 seconds difference
Execution
- Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Log File: "E:\Visa Versa Profiles\Rich L A45 Log.log" (max 1000 KB)
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- Archive deleted/replaced target files to: "E:\Rich L\Archived Files\"

If this isn't what you need, please tell me now to send you the fsf file.

Thanks for your help,

Rich Livingston

Hello again,

I just read your reply to the other archiving issue on the bulletin board, and that suggested a fix for my problem. I was mirroring a network drive to a folder on a local disk, and was archiving to a folder under that same folder. I just moved the archive folder to a location separate from the mirror folder, and it seems to be working now.

Assuming I've figured this out right, you might want to document this somehow for your users.
