i'm backing up a large number of files using VVPro 2 2010
i have volume shadow copy on
Initializing Volume Shadow Copy DLL ...
Creating Volume Shadow Copy for c: ... Done. Volume Shadow Copy is at \\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1
however, i'm seeing a large number of errors that look like this:
"Copying "4100_5c93d4a34_" (1.15KB) ... [Can not copy NTFS Additional File Streams of file " < target file name > ". The parameter is incorrect.] Error.
C"
obviously the real file name is there instead of the < >
i'm seeing this on 50-100 files all in different directories. none of the files are in use, or have been for a long time
any ideas? |

i also am seeing lots of errors such as this:
[File Timestamp Error. Section 113. One of the timestamps of '\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy1\ < filename >' is set to before January 1, 1970. Please check file timestamps (you can use the Windows Explorer's file properties).] Error.
i noticed that i have some files with NO timestamp at all. Looking at the referenced file in Explorer shows literally nothing in the Modified column. viewing file properties shows the following date for Created and Modified:
Monday, January 01, 1601, 12:00:00 AM
i think they are files i aquired with SmartFTP. very odd.
2 questions i guess:
1) can this be ignored somehow so it still gets backed up, but doesn't ignore timestamps for all differences?
2) can i set the timestamp on the file somehow |

Thanks for the util on timestamps! i could guess they are important for comparison, but it seems like handling null ones could be done a bit better.
Any ideas on the other errors? |
