I havenīt found an answear for this so here goes.
I am synchronizing files between location A to B. Know I want to compress and encrypt the data because this is going over the internet. Do I just compress/encrypt the source before the data goes over to the target and leave not check mark in compression/encryp. for the target ?
thanks in advance |

Hi, in ViceVersa the concept of file compression / encryption applies to how files are stored in Source and/or Target. When Source and/or Target are specified as being compressed or encrypted in the profile settings the files will be kept stored compressed or encrypted. Compressed files will get extension .gz and encrypted files will get extension .enc
This is useful when mirroring data on a portable disk for instance, so that data is compressed and occupies less space and encrypted so it can not be read if the drive is lost. Compression / encryption do not apply to the transfer protocol. _________________ --
