|
|
I have beed using ViceVera for a few years and I'm using 1.3.1. I use ViceVersa as a secondary backup for certian floders. My main backups are images. I have a newer PC and must not have the settings right in ViceVersa because if I restore the PC with a image, and then run ViceVersa to restore the other files the newer files are not restored.
My settings are:
C:\Documents and Settings\Heffy\My Documents\ <to> D:\ViceVersa\My Documents\ (Include Subfolders)
C:\Documents and Settings\Heffy\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\ <to> D:\ViceVersa\Address Book\ (Include Subfolders)
C:\Documents and Settings\Heffy\Favorites\ <to> D:\ViceVersa\Favorites\ (Include Subfolders)
C:\PLAN99\ <to> D:\ViceVersa\Planner\ (Include Subfolders)
C:\Program Files\PopTray\ <to> D:\ViceVersa\PopTray\ (Include Subfolders)
Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
+Ignore 2 seconds diff. +Ignore 1 hour diff.
Default Synchronization Method: Advanced Sync (With History)
History Database: "D:\Project Settings\database1.tdb" (synchronize conflicts)
+No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
+Try to copy files that are in use by other applications
Speed: 54 Buffer Size: 524288 _________________ http://www.heffy.com/ |

In the VV comparison window you should be able to see why files are not copied, maybe they are older ? The settings look fine. _________________ --

It's my newer files that don't get put back. I may create some files today and run ViceVersa to back them up, then if I restore the PC to an older date and run ViceVersa the newer files are not put back and are deleted from the backup files as well.
My project settings are kept on a different partition so they are not changed if I restore. I must not have something set right that I had set before, because it doesn't work as it used to.

In the comparison window you should be able to see a comparison of the timestamps of the files... maybe that helps... _________________ --

I'll keep an eye on it next time I restore. In the mean time I added this setting just in case.
Archive deleted/replaced source files to: "D:\ViceVersa\Archive\"
Archive deleted/replaced target files to: "D:\ViceVersa\Archive\"
