I have Outlook check for mail every 5 minutes.
I have worked out how to copy open files using VSS, but what if, while I am syncing, I receive an email, thus changing my outlook.pst file? Will it harm the syncing process? Or will the sync simply be of the pst file before the new email arrived?
When will it be possible to sync open files across a network, which would be really useful for keeping my laptop in sync with my desktop?
thanks

PS this product looks very solid and useful, will certainly give it a go and may well buy. |

Hi, when using Volume Shadow Copies for copying files, a snapshot is taken before the copy starts. From that point on, VV will use the snapshot to make the file copy. So if an e-mail is received during the copy process that will not impact the operation, because VV is using the created snapshot to copy the PST file and not the "live" PST file.
VSS over Network is not supported by Windows XP or 2003 yet. _________________ --
