Unable to exclude a folder - Invalid filter syntax

I am having this odd problem where ViceVersa will not allow me to exclude a folder, and says "Invalid filter syntax"

I can browse to a folder on the NAS, but when I click OK I get the error:

Z:\Music\Audiophile\DVD and Bluray Audio\Chicago\Quadio (2016) [9 x Blu-ray Audio]\BDs\

Any suggestions?

I tried adding \\?\ as well

so '[' is the problem.
