Vice Versa Not Copying

Hi, I have been a ViceVersa pro user for many years. I started with version 2.5. It has worked perfectly all this time. Suddenly today, it is not copying files from the source to the target. It goes through the compare properly, but when it tries to start copying, you can see the progress bar increasing 5% 20%, 40% and so on, until it gets to a percentage where it suddenly stops, and then starts going backward 35%, 20%, 3% and then 0.

It goes through this process over and over and never copies any files. The percentage jump is not the same for each iteration attempt. The file at the top, that the program says it is copying, never changes. I am using a script that I have used every week for several years without any problems. I have tried rebooting the computer that I am running VV from as well as the source and target computers that the script is acting on. Any help would be appreciated because I also use this for my company daily file back up and I have over 1 million files.

edit: I should note that after a compare, if I drag the new files from the source window to the target window one at a time, it copies correctly.

Have you found a solution? I am seeing exactly the same behavior. Large video files not copying, progress bar jumping back and forth, copy "Canceled"". I am running WIN 11, ViceVersa Pro 6, and backing up to an external Seagate 14TB USB drive.

Hi, try disabling multi-threading if it's active, the settings is in Profile Settings -> Performance-> Set Multithreading Options. Does that solve the issue?

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, disabling multithreading drastically slowed down the backup which was already scheduled as an 8 hour backup. Instead I selected "Windows native file copy" and the process improved significantly. Canceled copies dropped down to several hours between cancelations and I was able to complete the backup.

Enabling "Windows native file copy" will make ViceVersa use the standard Windows API for copying files, which is less "aggressive" in terms of concurrency.
