I received the following from Microsoft stating that as of 9/16 they will not longer support smtp mail with only user credentials. See the following:

The safety and security of your information is top priority for Microsoft. To help keep your account secure, Microsoft will no longer support the use of third-party email and calendar apps which ask you to sign in with only your Microsoft Account username and password. To keep you safe you will need to use a mail or calendar app which supports Microsoft’s modern authentication methods. If you do not act, your third-party email apps will no longer be able to access your Outlook.com, Hotmail or Live.com email address on September 16th.

I have version 4 of Pro, it appears that you are using smtp with only user credentials, has this changed in version 6?
thank you.

Hi, ViceVersa PRO version 6 only supports SMTP atm. We plan to change this in the next build.

As of yesterday, VV no longer sends emails via MS accounts. Any time frame on email authentication update?

Hi, will one-time passwords still work with SMTP like for GMAIL?

See:

I updated my personal applications (C# and python) to use oauth2 for both MS and Google and have had no problems. I assumed that this would be the case for VV. You should contact MS, but it is my understanding that MS will not allow other forms of authorization. So back to my original question, do you have any plans to update email support in VV in the very near future?
