I'm running the program as a mirrored back up of one portable HDD to another portable HDD. No archive, no log, because I don't understand them. When I tried to use the archive function, it erased everything in my target drive!
Three questions:
1) I've scheduled the program to run every 30 minutes if changes have been made, but I cannot tell when a backup has been performed. Where do I obtain that information? Looks like it's not performing the backups at all.
2) When I run the backup manually, it asks whether I want to "overwrite" files, do I? Have no idea what that means. And no, I'm not tech savvy.
3) When I run the program manually it asks me if I "want to replace newer Target files with Older Source files." That doesn't make sense to me, the whole point is to capture the new data in the source drive and back it up to the target drive? Could you please explain. |

Further to my initial message, it appears the program is running as I set it up to do, but I'm getting error messages. The program is copying from my source drive to my target drive but the error message I'm getting reads: "size, attributes, and/or time stamp of file on my target file has changed since the last scan and comparison, [and so] the file will be skipped. Error.
I'm thinking I have a problem, but do not know how to fix it. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. |

Hi, thank you for running ViceVersa.

Which scheduler are you using?

This is just a warning that ViceVersa will overwrite an older file in target with a new file in source, which is fine in your case.

This is a warning that there is a file in target which has a new timestamp compared to the same file in source. _________________ --
