Is it possible to sync only time stamps?

Hello,

Is it possible to sync only the timestamps of many files that are identical except for the timestamps?

I'm doing a backup of all my files each time I go back to my home country. For some reason, some times I have whole folders of thousands of files where files only differ by the timestamp. Not just 1 sec. or time difference, but some times several days.

I would like avoiding copying again all those files. They are music files that I cannot modify, so the only reason the timestamp may differ is some transfer I may have done between two drives.

So is it possible to sync only the time stamps without copying the whole file?

Hi, do the files have exactly the same content? i.e. the same CRC values if you do a CRC comparison in ViceVersa? At the moment it is not possible to just copy timestamps if the file size and name is the same, also because there would be no guarantee that the file content is the same, just because they have the same size....

Yes they are exactly the same because they are CD tracks that have been transferred to the HD as mp3. The thousands of files are actually the iTunes library that I have on a hard drive and backed up on a second drive. The metadata that may have changed would be in a the iTunes library file. So the files are identical in content just the time stamps have changed. It would be a pity to have to erase all the mp3 on the 2nd drive to copy them again just because of the timestamps.

Did you try a CRC comparison with ViceVersa? Just in case...
unfortunately atm it is not possible to copy just the timestamps with ViceVersa
