VV5 (5004) & subfolder filters. Prefetch 'on' causes timestamp errors at 're-scan' - W11 Pro 22H2
Hello. Hope you are all well.
Now then, this has taken ages to resolve at my end, but I have simplified the issue as follows :
On my C: Drive I have two 'root' folders :
C:\- Working Files
C:\- Working Files 2
within C:\- Working Files, I have two folders :
Centre
Outstations
what I want to do is 'Backup Mirror' some sub-folders from the Centre folder and then some from the Outstations folder to C:\- Working Files 2.
So the Source and Target in VV will be :
\\?\C:\- Working Files\
\\?\C:\- Working Files 2\
and of course, include Subfolders is 'on'.
Then I put a Subfolder filter in to 'Include' :
\Centre\Sub Folder1
as a test and run the VV Profile.
That works, the correct files are copied just as I would expect.
However....a subsequent re-scan (without any changes made at the Source) causes an error on Execute :
[The size, attributes and/or timestamp of the file "\\?\C:\- Working Files 2\Centre\Sub Folder1\Image1.jpg" have changed since the last scanning and comparison. File will be skipped.] Error.'
I believe the 'root cause' of the error is the setting :
Scan Target While Scanning Source (Prefetch Target)
if that setting is 'On', ie set to 'Yes' I receive the error on re-scan, if it is set to 'No', so is 'Off', then VV correctly reports 'Source and Target are Identical'....
I'll send my Profile to Support for review. |
