|
|
When I click on the VVengineicon, on the taskbar, I get the following message:
c:\program files (x86)\vvengine\vvenginehome.exe not found
If I right click the icon and then select the first menu item, vvenginehome, it gives the same error message. Clicking any other menu item works.
I checked to make sure the file is indeed there and it works, and it is and it does. If I click the desktop shortcut for VVEngine it works too. The launcher seems to be running with no errors nightly, only the taskbar icon doesn't work. I tried to rebuild the icon cache, and of course rebooted, all to no avail.
Annoying so I would appreciate help. |

Hi, thank you for contacting us.
Under which account are you running VVEngine, and is it the same account that is using the icon taskbar? Which version of Windows? I am wondering if there is a permission issue starting c:\program files (x86)\vvengine\vvenginehome.exe from the taskbar?
thanks! _________________ --

Thanks for the help !!
I am running everything under an administrator account, really only one account on the machine. I also wondered about privileges, so I have everything in the folder "programsiles(86)\vvengine" with wide open permissions, ie every group (users, admin, system, all application packages) has full control of everything in this folder. Remember, I can still run the vvenginesettings menu option from the icon, which points to the same folder, just a different exe. |

To add to the discussion, I just uninstalled (completely removed) vvengine then downloaded and re-installed it. The problem persists exactly as before. To add to this, I have been running vv since 2008 with no problems up until recently. |
