I have been running v2.5 for a few years and for the most part no issues in copying files from one drive to another. I have recently found a file that is16GB in size that will not copy to the backup drive when all other files and updates will. This is the error that is received:

[Can not read data. Data error (cyclic redundancy check).] Error.

Looking at google forums, it was suggesting that there could be bad drive sectors which would be really odd as I have almost 6TB of data on this drive and this is the only file that will not copy over. I have since then deleted the file, re-created a new file generated out of video software and renamed it a new file name. Result was the same. Any suggestions on what could be causing the error?

Hi, if you run chkdsk onm the drive , it should identify if there are bad sectors.
How is the drive formatted? NTFS?

The drive is formatted as NTFS. I did run chkdsk after your post and the output is listed below. The .MP4 file is the one that was not being copied correctly. After this was completed, the file was then transferred correctly. I will have to now do some research to find out if the drive is going bad or if just this a few clusters were bad which I recall at one time even new drives may have a bad cluster or two. Thanks.

Hi, possibly also check the S.M.A.R.T. attributes of the drive, for any sign of trouble...
