|

I have flooded a drive with TBs of old files by restoring an old backup. I can identify the extra files by using ViceVersa to compare the drive to another old backup, filtering on timestamp, and viewing only the files that exist in the target (not the source). I can delete these files one by one or in groups, but I'll like to be able to automate that. Is there a way to automatically delete files that appear only in the target after comparison - an alternative to right click/delete? Thank you. |

Hi, the Backup execution method (mirror source to target) would delete files that are in target but not in source, but will also copy new / single files from the source to the target (click on Preview to preview what will be done by VV). _________________ --

Thank you for the reply. That would work if that's all it does?
To clarify: after comparison, files that are only on the target (red dot) will be deleted, and files that are only on the source will be copied to the target?
When the Backup method is run, will it be applied to files that are marked as excluded in the comparison view?
Thanks! |

Hi, excluded files are never copied / deleted.

Yes, also newer files in source are copied to target to overwrite older files.
See all execution methods here:
