Hi,
I apologise for such a simple question but I dont want to make any assumptions or mistakes.
I have just discovered that a whole load of recent copying to a backup drive is incorrect because I left the setting as AUGMENT.
Currently C:\FILES is correct and I do not want these 'master' files changed.
I simply want to copy the contents of C:\FILES with their existing creation (or last modified) dates overwriting the Y:\FILES target folders and subfolders.
At the moment, the existing Y:\FILES target folders currently contain a mixture of old files and new ones - but I need to ensure that Y:\FILES is simply an exact up to date copy of C:\FILES complete with their existing creation dates .
I could obviously not bother using VV Pro and simply copy *.* from one drive to another(!) but I would like to learn from my mistake.and correct my settings in VVPro rather than overwriting all the files
Because there are an extremely large large number of files in C:\FILES and Y:\FILES, rather than simply overwriting every file (which will take 48 hours) I wondered about just updating only the Y:\FILES that are older than the master files in C:\FILES.
QUESTION
So, what VV Pro3 settings are needed would help me update Y:\FILES as quickly as possible - i.e. as quickly as possible - to ensure they have the same dates as in C:\FILES and subfolders.
I apologise for such a simple question but I dont want to make any assumptions.

Hi, if you want to mirror a source folder (master) to a target folder exactly (slave), select the Backup (Mirror Source to Target) method.
https://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item27.htm
This will also delete files from Target that are not in Source.
If you do not want to delete files from Target that are not in Source, use the Replication (Update) method instead. _________________ --
