|

I need to set up VVEngine as a service so I can run a couple of profiles as an administrator so I can use shadow volumes to do backups of some files that are actively being used. I've set up my VVPro 4 profiles and can run VVPro as admin and the backups complete successfully.
I cannot, however, use the InstServ.exe to install VVEngine as a service. I get the error "Error copying INI file from C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\VVLauncher\VVLauncher.ini to c:\program files\viceversa pro\vvlauncer\VVLauncher.ini. The system cannot find the path specified."
I tried looking for the C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\VVLauncher directory and it does not exist. I find can find C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\VVEngine, but VVLauncher.ini does not exist there. I go to c:\program files\viceversa pro\vvlauncer and VVLauncher.ini already exists there but is a 0k file.
All the documentation I'm seeing on setting up VVEngine as a service seems to be out of date.
I'm running on Windows 11 with the latest versions of VVPro 4 and VVEngine.
Are there manual steps that I can take to load VVEngine as a service without having to InstServ.exe since that is not working? |

It seems that I was looking in the wrong place and definitely running the wrong file. I have installed VVEngine as a service and it's working perfectly for my needs. Thanks! |
