|
|
I mounted OneDrive as drive Z on my laptop, then used VV to synchronize a directory of pictures from my external drive with encryption to that OneDrive volume. It worked OK but when I ran a comparison after if had finished, it shows all the files uploaded as newer than the disk files, which is not possible as they didn't change. Why is that? And how can I update changes in that case (for example I move some pictures to other directories.) All the screen is taken by a list of supposed new files so I can't see the real changes. |

What software did you use to mount it? Does this software keep file stamps of copied files correctly or sets them to the time stamp when the files were copied? |

I now checked, all files copied, they all use indeed the copy date.
First I mounted OneDrive manually trough Windows 10 instructions for OneDrive
But the transfer was very slow, so then I mounted the drives with MountainDuck.
So maybe MountainDuck is using the time of copy, but then why Window does it as well when no software are involved?
Previous upload using GoodSync and backblaze bucket directly keep the correct modification dates |

Yes I followed instructions in
comtech-networking.com/blog/item/404-how-to-map-onedrive-as-a-network-drive-to-see-all-your-files/:
"Log into Onedrive.com.
Choose OneDrive Personal or OneDrive for Business.
Copy the CID number from the address bar. ...
In Windows Explorer, go to This PC.
Click on the Computer tab then "Map network drive".
In the Folder field, enter d.docs.live.net/ followed by the CID you copied in step 1." |

I now test it from home and it is behaving normal. Nothing is changed except that I am using my phone internet instead of the office internet. Is it possible that the office internet is creating the problem?? |

Do you have the same settings for both profiles running in ViceVersa? |

As far as i know yes it is the same profile.
I observe now at home that for the directories the dates are the creation dates but now it preserves the modification date for the files, at least when I see it with the explorer. What counts is that for the re-comparison it gives equality now and when i make changes on the disks these are properly repercuted on the backup. I will observe again in the office on monday. |

Hi, I tried and having the same issue on a Win 10 PC. the modified dates are wrongly set to the time the file is copied. I need to check at the source code and see if there is something ViceVersa can do to fix this issue.... the OneDrive drive mapping otherwise seems OK. |

Thanks. I thought it was ok but what happens is that initially the initial modification date as preserved but later on it changes to the copied date. It's very strange.
That would be good if vv could do something about it because as it is, it is impossible to synchronize. |

I noticed same issue copying files with Windows File Explorer.
Initially timestamp is OK, but on refresh it gets the "now" timestamp... |

Even trying to change the file timestamp itself manually does not work... the timestamps do not "stick". I think it's a OneDrive issue via drive mapping, ViceVersa can't fix it unfortunately. |
