When a lot of files get archived because I had a Windows crash. When finally reinstalled and restored, The VVEngine could not be stopped quick enough. The profile ran. Therefore, I am spending hours to rename the files back to their original name, such as taking off the (2020-11_12-30-16_DEL_T) appended when archived.
What would be best is to just place the archived file(s) into an archived sub-folder with the archived date, leaving the original file name alone.
I am in the process of renaming hundreds of files back to their original name, removing the appended backup date, so I can copy them back to the source folder. Such a pain!!! |

So perhaps just that element of BRU could be included within ViceVersa 4.0 ? |

Yes, I think it would be good to have a restore routine from the archive, such as copying all files after/before a certain date using the archive timestamp. So we could use the file filters as now and the archive could be the source folder and the files would be filtered using the timestamp in the archive instead of their modified timestamp or both. _________________ --

So I had a need today to retore a parent folder and its subfolders and had to use the BRU software before restoring it back on the server.
I realize adding the deletion date to archived file sure makes it handy for admins to determine when file was deleted, etc but makes for extra steps if doing a bulk restore. |
