We have a VV copy job that runs on an hourly schedule which copies our data from one server to another, we discovered today that new folders appeared to be copied, but not the files.

In the inclusions filters I have two include statements;

1 - *.DS_Store
2 - *.*

Is there a reason why the folders can be copied but not the files?

Hi, are you wanting to include all files with the 2 filters?

Yes we want to include all files, we had to use the first filter as it wasn't originally including those files. For some reason it was copying the folders but not files! We need an answer for this as it's affected our business relationship with our customer.

Hi, to include all files just remove all filters. If that does not work, it could be a permission issue, could you post the log file?

Or the files are all excluded because they are offline (e.g. cloud), in that case enable the option :

Include offline files: When this option is enabled, ViceVersa will include files that are offline in the comparison and profile execution, e.g. files that are in source and/or target folders and have the Windows offline attribute set. By default, ViceVersa excludes these files automatically.

in the advanced settings of the profile settings.

thanks

Hi,

We had to change the storage device VV was copying from to a newer device, and i ran the job again and it appears to have worked and copied files across correctly. It's also overwritten the previous log-file so i cannot provide it unfortunately.

I do recall noticing it did not show *.* in the include filters, but now it does show it... Could the profile have been corrupted? Should i create a new one just to be safe?

Hi, no, the profile itself cannot be corrupted, it is just a text file with extension .fsf
