Can someone tell me if it copies NTFS permissions as well?

Hello, yes, it will, there is an option for it in the profile settings.
Make sure your source and target folder have the same permissions to start with, e.g.

source: x:\source\
target: s:\target\

x:\source\ and s:\target\ mus thave the same persmissions then ViceVersa will copy permsisions for the files/folders it copies.

My target is just an empty hard drive. can I not just copy over all the data and have the same permissions on the target the same as source.

Source is on the same domain so permissions should show up.
