|
|
I am evaluating ViceVersa Pro.
Can you give me a step by step guide to setting up real time synchronization so that a file will be synchronized as soon as it is changed. I am synching My Documents folder on Win XP Pro to the same folder on a Buffalo Terrastation via a network. I am able to synchronize manually, but can't seem to find the option mentioned in this FAQ:
Can ViceVersa Be Set Up for Scheduling?
Yes, you can set up automatic synchronization, replication and backup projects using the Windows Task Scheduler, or using VVScheduler and VVLauncher. VVScheduler and VVLauncher are free add-ons to ViceVersa PRO, included in the ViceVersa PRO download.
VVLauncher also supports real-time synchronization. A task can be run as soon as folder content changes, at log-on and/or log-off.
Thanks for any help. |

Hello
Steps to setup real-time synchronization:
- In ViceVersa, save the profile you created to a file, ex. profile1.fsf
- Close ViceVersa.
- Start VVLauncher from Start->All Programs->ViceVersa PRO 2->Tools
- Select the saved ViceVersa profile, by clicking on "..." in VVLauncher
- Set your scheduling options by clicking on "set" in VVLauncher
- Activate VVLauncher by clicking on the button ON/OFF
That's it. VVLauncher will now work in the background and start your profile as per settings. Next time you restart Windows VVLauncher will also automatically start. _________________ --

I have problems running vvlauncher in a multiuser environment.
I want to run vvlauncher service as a domainaccount called: zCOPYMASTER
But i logon this server as domainuser ADMIN.
Quote: |
- Start VVLauncher from Start->All Programs->ViceVersa PRO 2->Tools
|
Gives me two processes running with vvlauncher.exe. One as user zCOPYMASTER and one as ADMIN. Then one of them will complain that the database.tdb is already in use.
The way that works for me is to start a command prompt. From command prompt do: runas /USER:domain\zCOPYMASTER cmd
From the new command prompt start vvlauncher.exe
I think that starting vvlauncher.exe when the vvlauncher service already is running should be possible no matter what user the service is running as. |
