|
|
I'm trying to set up new profiles with ViceVersa Pro 3 on a new server. We have multiple external drives that we use for backups. I'm trying to mirror from drive to drive but keep running into the long path name error.
I'm confused on where to enter the \\?\ into the path. Example: Drive 1 is I: Archive. I'm trying to mirror to Drive 2 G:Archive.
I:Archive to G:Archive
Do I put the \\?\ before the I:Archive? Therefore \\?\I:Archive
I've tried this multiple times without success. I still get the long pathname error. |

Hello, yes, it needs to be used as a prefix, eg
\\?\c:\
\\?\x:\
need to add this to every folder where you want to handle paths > 260 chars _________________ --

In the profile correct? Not the actual directory on the server itself, but when you're building the paths in the profile correct? I kept getting an error that send that folder doesn't exist. Example: \\?\I:Archive. It kept telling that folder didn't exist and asked me if I wanted to create it. |

It works with I:\archive\ until it gets to the long path names, which is why I'm here. When I use the \\?\I:\archive\ cmd I get the error I mentioned in my earlier post that the \\?\I:\Archive\ doesn't exist and asks if I want to create it. |
