how to setup realtime mirroring?

Hi there, i downloaded Vice Versa Pro (demo) last night and im quite happy with the scheduler result (first i try that actually works the way i want it)

My question is about how to setup/configure the realtime backup/mirror? i dont see it anyware. ?!?! I executed VVLauncher separatelly but it sown up in my tray with a red exclamation (!) cant get in to set it up..

If the realtime feature works as good as the scheduler i will be inclined to buy this software. I only need it to backup/mirror a few folders: (to an internal HD, an external USB HD and to an other comp across my network)

update: I installed teh program in a XP machine to see if it would have teh same problem but it worked just fine. I do liek the real time backup as files are being created..

now the question remains, how can i make it work under windows 2003?

Looks like there is no profile loaded in VVLauncher.

You will need to setup a ViceVersa profile before installing VVLauncher as service. The way to install VVLauncher as a service is the following:

- Login to system as administrator
- Install the ViceVersa PRO software as per defaults
- Run ViceVersa Pro and create, then save a profile
- Run VVLauncher and select the ViceVersa profile + set options
- Run the profile once to check that it is working fine
- Run Service -> InstServ tool
- Select Install Service, then Start Service

Note: by default the service is installed under the LocalSystem account which does not have access to the network resource. You can change that using Windows service panel. see http://www.tgrmn.com/web/kb/item38.htm

At this point the VVLauncher GUI is no longer available.
If you need to change some VVLauncher settings:
- Run Service -> InstServ
- Select Stop Service
- Run VVLauncher
- Change settings
- Close VVLauncher
- Run Service -> InstServ
- Select Start Service

im going to have reinstall the software because i do have a profile made. Thats how i tested the scheduler, once that was workign i then went to test the launcher to no avail..

ill try reinstalling it again sometime tomorrow

i got the GUI to work, it was an activex issue..

now there seems to be an other problem.. I un-installed the software and re-installed..

Got the profile done and saved in teh same folder were the mirror/backup takes place.

Problem #1:
The schedule now exits with an error 6

Problem #2:
Vlauncher goes into a loop and exits with error 2 and tries to perform the backup and then exits on error 2 and so on.....


Schedule par was working just fine before. Any clues?

the only .log file i see is in the VVlauncher folder which i already posted.. i see no .fsf in either viceversa nor vvlauncher folder..

Hi - the .fsf file is the profile file you are running with VVlauncher. The ViceVersa log file instead can be set in ViceVersa, in the profile settings.
