|
|
Both VVScheduler and VVLauncher seem to be utilities to launch a profile automatically at a certain time. VVScheduler seems to be geared towards longer periods of time (time of day, day of week) wherein VVLauncher seems geared towards shorter periods of time (startup, shutdown, every X minutes).
VVScheduler seems to work fine when no user is logged in and VVLauncher can be run as a Service so no user needs to be logged in. The main difference seems to be that VVLauncher can only have one profile loaded but VVScheduler can have a list of different profiles to run. This BTW seems to be the answer for many forum requests on how to schedule many different profiles automatically.
So I'm wondering if I'm fundamentally missing something that defines these two utilities from each other? Also, if I'm perceiving things correctly, why aren't these features just combined into one or the other? |

Everything you mentioned is correct.
Plus:
- VVLauncher can run a profile also when file changes to source and/or target are detected, and at computer startup and shutdown.
- VVScheduler is a wrapper around the Windows Task Scheduler engine, so you can run profiles using different user's accounts etc.
Our plan is to keep improving both programs.
VVLauncher needs to be able to handle more than 1 profile and VVScheduler needs to some user interface additions. _________________ --
