|
|
Dear Support,
I am a translator and use ViceVersa to keep my desktop computer (main work machine) and my laptop (work machine when travelling) identical as far as work files.
Here is how it is done: I copy all work directories from my desktop to an external HDD and then from the HDD to the laptop. When I come back, everything goes from the laptop onto the HDD and then from the HDD onto the desktop.
However, something happens with the date and time of my files once they have been copied onto the external HDD: they change.
Then ViceVersa considers the files different and the Mirror source to target function takes unnecessarily long.
I could use the CRC comparison mode (even slower) or ignore date and time, but I am just wondering why this happens in the first place and is there another way to solve the problem.
Suggestions?
Best regards,

How do they change? Are they set to current time?
What type of drive is the external drive and Windows version you are running?

Hi there,
I can send you a screen capture, but I would prefer it to send it for your eyes only, not post it in this forum.
Where can I send it?
Best regards,

I have sent some screen captures and notes to your support email... Have you received them? |
