|

I am using Windows 7 Pro 64bit on two Panasonic laptops and VV Pro 2.5 2519 64bit. I've been using VV for many years, using WD USB 2 & 3 HDDs and for the last few years SanDisk USB3 SSDs.
Since the days of Windows 98, Microsoft have had a number of problems with their file date/time stamps. The worst seen was camera .jpg files change by 1, 2 and 3 hours (compared with the image Exif data). Also time zone changes, so I now keep all devices on GMT +0.
My CD collection is now kept as .MP3 files. I use Music Collector to manage the database and play music within Music Collector, which calls Windows Media Player.
Running VV, from time to time, I notice that some files have changed their Timestamps, requiring VV to sync. But I have not changed the files.
As an example, I've have displayed in VV compare on C:
12/08/2018 15:48:23 and on S: (SSD)
12/08/2018 15:45:57. In Windows folders on C: and D:
11/08/2018 20:53.
Any suggestions? |

Hi, ViceVersa PRO always shows the modified timestamp for every file, which is a timestamp that every file has in Windows. That is the time that is shown when you right click on a file in Windows and select "properties" then see "Modified". What does it show for this file? thanks _________________ --

Thanks for your reply. I normally display in Windows folders- Name, Size, Date and Type.
This album is an Amazon download and the 'Date' field holds the time of the download to my laptop (I keep screen dumps of purchases and the download was soon after purchase.)
I have now added all of the various date fields and 'Date Accessed' and 'Date created' are the same as 'Date'.
11/08/2018 20:53. 'Date last saved' and 'Date modified' show the same as in VV Pro (after a sync), but without the seconds. All the other 'Date *' fields are blank.
Now as the files were extracted from a zip file on C: and displayed in VV Pro as
12/08/2018 15:48:23 why on S: (external SSD), copied there by VV Pro, do they have an earlier time?
12/08/2018 15:45:57
I did proceed with the backup and now the files are the same on both drives when making a comparison. VV Pro must not modify files copied. So what is happening?
I always copy using the verify with CRC. |
