|
|
Hi. LONG term user, love the product.
Just recently installed the new version, and whenever the system goes through the delete process (be it archiving, or whatever) the CPU pegs. Literally, 100% usage. The system deletes one file a second, sometimes taking up to 15 seconds or more just to delete one file! Doesn't matter how big the file is either. 2k files take just as long as 2M files.
As well, I can delete massive amounts of files using the operating system and Windows Explorer without any delay at all.
Appreciate any help, this is a serious issue for my backups as I'm sure you can imagine.
Thanks,

Hi, are you deleting to the Recycle Bin ? To check see Main Windows->View Menu->Preferences->Use Recycle Bin when deleting. If you are sending files to the Recycle Bin, I suggest you test without it. _________________ --

Yep, sure am. I just disabled it. I'll see how that works and let you know either way. _________________ Al Bsharah

Beautiful! Much better now. Can I ask WHY the Recycle Bin is so atrociously slow? I seem to be able to delete entire directories with thousands of files (to the recycle bin) using Windows Explorer just fine... _________________ Al Bsharah

I'm also seeing this same problem while deleting to the Recycle Bin. Emptying the Recycle Bin out helps temporarily, but after about 100 files the speed slows down atrociously. |
