|
|
Hello,
I have a collection of Profiles that are running successfully. However, I have two Profiles that consistently generate errors on the same set of files (defined within each Profile). Let's just focus on one of these Profiles.
When the Profile runs it does a "Backup (Mirror Source to Target)". I am backing up a single folder from one computer to another. It will successfully copy and update a large number of files in the source folder to the target folder. However, it consistently generates the following error message (in the Log) for the same 11 files (which, on the very 1st run of the Profile were copied to the target) - Note that no Archive is being created and no synch is involved. :
Copying file C:\Program Files\Agent\Data\00000027.IDX <to> F:\Backup Staging\C840\Agent\00000027.IDX (1.83KB) (Overwriting) ... [Error during CRC check. Access is denied.] [ERROR].
I have looked at the file Attributes in both the source and target and only the "A" (Archive) attribute is set. I can't locate any additional information in the Log to tell me why "Access is denied".
Please help.
Thank you.

Hello - looks like VV is not allowed to access the file for checking CRC values after copying. Did you set CRC checking in the profile? Maybe something to do with the folder permissions or file permissions? _________________ --

Hello,
Yes, I should have explicitly said that I have CRC checking turned on but it is on for *ALL* folders and I am only having problems with two folders.
I notice that *ALL* of the target folders (the folders that contain the files copied from the source) are marked as R/O. Since all of the folders are marked this way and the Profiles for all but two of them are working I'm guessing that this is not the problem. Plus, a CRC check would just involve reading only anyway wouldn't it?
Can you gove me an idea if what else to check? Again, just focusing on one of the two Profiles that are generating errors, all of the files being copied from the source folder are free of any Attributes other than "A" yet 11 of these files generate the error. What else can I check?
Thank you.

Hello,
Here is some additional information.
The problem is not limited to the two target folders I originally mentioned. I have run several backups since then and I am now seeing that this "Error during CRC check. Access is denied." is occurring "randomly" among many of the files in my various Profiles.
I have a batch file that contains commands to launch VV for each of the dozen or so Profiles I have defined. Each time I run this batch of Profiles I am getting this error on different sets of files.
Please help me determine what is causing this. I'd like to keep using the CRC check to ensure the files have copied successfully.
Thank you.
Al Koch.

Hello,
I am using Build 2010 which I think is a "pre-release". It was recommended to me in an earlier Post as a way to get Moves into an Archive folder as opposed to Copies.

Can you please re-downlaod and re-install build 2010 ? There was an issue with CRC calculation in build 2010 which was now fixed. thanks _________________ --
