Hi,
I am using 64bit ViceVersa Pro 3.0
I have got the following message when I started copying a folder across to another drive.
I have looked for help but I could do with some hints as this is the first time I have met this issue.
1.
Quote: |
Starting... Ok
Copying "AcronisTrueImage2016_build6571_2016-07-02.exe" (479.63MB) ... [Can not read data. Incorrect function.] Error. |
What does "Can not read data. Incorrect function.] Error" mean please, and how can I resolve it?
2.
Later on I got another similar message for a different file.
In all there were 12 files out of approx 400,000 which had this message, and 11 were in one folder.
Thank you in advance for any help. |

Hi TGRMN Software,
Thank you, I will look deeper, but it may be just the age of the backup media.
Can I clarify a couple of things to help me please?
- In case it makes a difference, I just point out that the error message is not
ERROR_INVALID_FUNCTION = 1 (0x1), but "[Can not read data. Incorrect function.] Error"
- Am I right in then thinking that this error is pointing out it is a Windows error and not a VV error?
- Is it worth me trying to repeat a small sample using my previous VV Pro 2.0 ?
I wanted to attach a screen dump during the process, but I couldn't work out how to upload it here. Apparently it prevents me also from referencing my external website as well. (Can you advise me 'how to ' please?)
Sorry to maybe ask dumb questions, I don't use VV Pro much.
Thanks |

Hi, please send the screenshot to support @ tgrmn via e-mail.

I can confirm is the same error.

Yes, the error comes from Windows.

That could be useful to see if the error changes with a different version of ViceVersa.
thanks! _________________ --
