I have purchased the upgrade to VV Pro 3 and I see in the help file that I should be able to "move" whilst executing a "Replication (Update Target)" job. However, I do not see the advanced setting to enable move.

-from the help guide-
Quote:
Move to Target. For Replication (Update Target) method only.
Enable this option to move files from source to target, e.g. copy files then delete them from source.
When this option is enabled with the Replication (Update Target) method:
* All new files/folders added to Source (single files) will be moved to Target
* All updated files in Source (newer) are moved to Target (older)
* If a source file has a matching target file already, then the file is deleted from source

The help file doesn't seem to be correct or I'm not reading it right.
Any help?

It appears this move feature only works if the Source and Target AND Archive are on the same drive.

I guess I don't get it.

The job I'm trying to create is essentially a one-way-sync (or MOVE) from one server to a different server with some date variables thrown in.

There's 2 options, one is the old :

Move Files to Archive Folders (instead of copying): This option will improve archiving performance significantly by moving files to the archive folders instead of copying them. It can only be used when source and target and their corresponding archive folders are on the same drive, or an error is reported. When this option is not selected, ViceVersa copies files from source/target to the archive folders. This option cannot be used with the synchronization method.

The new one you are looking for is :

Move to Target. For Replication (Update Target) method only.
Enable this option to move files from source to target, e.g. copy files then delete them from source.
When this option is enabled with the Replication (Update Target) method:
* All new files/folders added to Source (single files) will be moved to Target
* All updated files in Source (newer) are moved to Target (older)
* If a source file has a matching target file already, then the file is deleted from source

This option is in profile settings -> execution for version 3 or newer.

I re-read your post about 5 times and examined all the settings and found it. I'm using option\method 2 and it's now working perfect.

This is helping me tremendously with archiving about 10 million flat files.

Thanks VVPro!!
