ViceVersa Pro 2.5 - Build 2519 - (64-bit)
Hi,
I run a VV Mirror Job each night to update a backup copy of 'live' data. At the end of this Job a DOS Batch file is called via 'Run Scripts after execution' to 'zip' all the files in the 'Destination' so I have a 'static' dated copy of that 'data-set' before the VV Job runs the next night and the process is repeated.
That all works, but I'd like to show the DOS Batch File 'zip' progress as it runs...is that possible ? At the moment VV just displays an hourglass as the Batch File runs with no other indication that the file execution is 'in progress' (which takes a couple of hours as there are 500,000+ files)...
Thank you.

Hi Alice,
thanks, the output from the script is redirected to the log file, and the ViceVersa output window. But does the zipping tool you are use produce any output?
thanks _________________ --

Hi and thanks for your answer.
I'm just using 7-Zip from the command line, so if I run the .BAT with the 7-Zip instruction in it from a DOS box it presents stats for ‘overall percentage complete’ / no. of files processed and shows which file it’s currently ‘zipping’.
When the .BAT file is run from a VV Profile all I am presented with is a 'blue rotating circle' ie an hourglass equivalent, it would be handy if it opened the same DOS box, showing the progress, then closed it when the zipping process completed. There’s a lot of files and even though I am ‘storing’ rather than compressing the files, it takes several hours !!
