I am getting to the point where I simply can't trust Vice Versa Scheduler. I have critical backup jobs that I need run every single day. My workstation has a fresh install of Windows 10 (1709 build 16299.64), the newest download of Vice Versa (2519), and VVScheduler 2.1.2.0. I recently set up 10 new sync jobs and also set up 10 new scheduling tasks.

When I set up the individual sync jobs, I ran them once to verify that they worked, then I created a task in VVScheduler. After creating the task, I manually ran each of them to verify that they ran. Each one takes less than ten minutes to run and I have scheduled them to start 30 minutes apart and run at night when I am gone.

So this morning I open VVScheduler to see if all my tasks have completed sucessfully. Nope. 6 out of 10 have not run sucessfully I have 3 "Source Folders Not Found" errors, I have 2 "Target Not Found" errors, and 1 "Execution completed with file copy/delete errors."

I went down the list and clicked "Run Task" for each of them and VVSheduler reports that they all completed successfully.

The one with file copy delete errors is the one that backs up my Thunderbird email folder. I always close Thunderbird before I leave for the day so there shouldn't e any file lock or open file problems. Just in case this profile is set up to copy open files. It will always work manually, but I frequently get errors with the scheduler.

I don't know what is going on, but I really wished that I could trust this just to work like it is supposed to.

Is there any way to get this to work more reliably?

Thanks,
Kirk

The source and targets are either hard drives connected to the computer directly or Network shares that are mapped to drive letters.

I tried to see what the detailed log says. I clicked "View Profile Log". I get an error message that says: "A log file was not set for this profile."

Not sure why not or where to set it up?

The profile log can be setup in ViceVersa -> Profile Settings -> Execution
