Hi there,
I am using VV Pro for many years now and I am very very pleased with it.
Since I am backing up onto a USB external device I have created a profile that encrypts the data.
At that time I have also created another profile to restaure the encrypted data back in case this is needed.
Recently I have needed to recover only one small folder to put it on another PC I have and have tried to set a specific profile for this. I entered the encrypted key in that profile and... I could not remember the exact detail of it, so I could not restaure it that way, and I found another way simply by going to the original data when I would access my PC.
Is there a way to recover this encryption key ? Or should I do another back-up profile with a new key and save again the whole set of data on the USB external drive ? Probably also after I have deleted all the files from the target USB drive beforehand I guess ?
Thank you to let me know how I could find a way to do.

Hello,
There is now way to recover the encryption key. The only thing is maybe to try de-crypting files a few times with ViceVersa and see if you can remember the key. If you want to start again, you should remove all the encrypted files from the USB and then start again with a new profile and new encryption key.
thanks _________________ --

Hi, thanks for your answer.
After a few atempts I could recover the full details of the encryption key. In order not to forget it again I have renamed the profile with a mnemonic that should allow me to remember it again in the future.
Good continuation to TGRMN |
