|

RE: VV Pro 2.5 B2518 on Windows 10 Pro. Scheduler last ran 6 Feb (9 days ago). There is a series of 5 jobs that run at night. The computer is always up and running (monitoring some equipment). These jobs have been running successfully for several years. Tasks do not run as scheduled nor manually. When run manually they update the Last Time Run but do not show Running or update the Last Run Result. There are no log entries after 6 Feb. This is insidious because there is no way to detect a problem just looking at the Scheduler screen. I reinstalled including uninstall; no change except the Last Run Results code changed from 0 to 0x800702e4 (after install before try to run). Tried creating a new Task but that doesn't run either. NOTE: about the same time-can't be sure exactly- the Airplane Mode icon showed up in the network box on the task bar; the computer is still connected to the network; there is no WiFi on the machine and Airplane Mode does NOT appear in the Network Page in Settings; there is a UPS and I have tried various tricks with the UPS to get rid of the Airplane Mode, but if I want UPS I am stuck with Airplane mode. It just occurred to me to disconnect the UPS and see what happens with VV; will post this topic now and report on the UPS as soon as I can. Any help is appreciated |

Re-booting after disconnecting the UPS does remove Airplane Mode until UPS is reconnected, but it doesn't fix VV. VV still non-functional per above post. |

Thanks for the clue. Unchecking "Stop Task If Battery Mode Begins" is the solution. The tasks now run and the logs are present. Earlier I unchecked "Don't Start If Running On Batteries" but that wasn't sufficient. It is interesting that disconnecting the UPS didn't help. I presume all this fracas is due to a Win 10 update. I have two other machines running Windows Home. VV has been unaffected on them. One of these had Airplane Mode show up but I was able to get rid of it by rebooting the machine with the UPS disconnected, and then later reconnecting the UPS (this didn't work on the Windows Pro machine). Of course this means tasks will be rudely interrupted by the UPS shutting the machine down if battery mode goes too long; small price to pay. |
