I was wondering if VVPro has the ability to move any folder to an archive if its subfolder has a set name. Ex. A:\160B4EC679P345\processed.

Where the main folder, and its contents, that contains a subfolder "processed" can be moved to another location.

Thank you

Well VV cannot move ie copy and delete folders/files, the function does not exist. Their Product Support Team did say 'We are going to implement file moving in our next release. ...' in October of this year in a reply to another Topic, so there is hope.

There's a few ways to tackle your issue and I guess I would do something like this :

1) Using a 'Folder Listing' product, export your folder structure down to Folder Level 2 (ie to include the location of the 'Processed' folder in your example) as an .xlsx file or similar to Excel
2) In Excel, 'Filter' the results by the word 'Processed' so you only have qualifying 'root' folder names displayed in your s/s
3) Export/copy these paths to a .txt file, then change the layout of the .txt so that it can act as an 'Import' file for VV, so in your Post the .txt file would be formatted as follows :

Include>\160B4EC679P346>

4) In your VV Profile 'Import' (Load...) the .txt file into the 'Subfolder Filters' section and run the Profile, this will copy all the folders that contain a sub-folder named 'Processed' at Folder Level 2

5) Once copied, delete the 'processed' folders manually from the Source

Further to the above....

You haven’t indicated the scale ie number of affected folders (assuming you know it), if it’s huge I’d be minded to rename the folders ‘in situ’ via 'Tgrmn Bulk Rename Utility'. So follow steps 1 and 2 above, but in Excel execute a '=CONCATENATE' to add a Pipe Sign (prerequisite for Bulk Rename Utility Import file) and '- x' prefix chars to the affected folder name(s). So in your Post the .txt file would be formatted as follows :

160B4EC679P346 | - x 160B4EC679P346

Run 'Tgrmn Bulk Rename Utility' and import the above .txt file so that it has 'Rename Pairs' to work with. Allow it to rename the affected folders, then back in VV create a ‘Subfolder Filter’ to select all ‘root’ folders that begin with ‘- x’, run that copy job, then back in the filesystem delete the affected folders. Obviously this is now much easier as they are all prefixed with ‘- x’.
