Hello,

i have a mysterious problem here.

windows 7 x64 / VV build 2517

source
6TB harddisk / ~3500 Files / ~350 folders
2 folders in root, lets call them BERLIN and LONDON

target
should be mirrored (backup) and is currently identical to source,
-> has 2 folders BERLIN and LONDON in root etc.

only a few files have changed in source and should be updated in backup.

problem
comparison result is not correct. when i compare
[source] \BERLIN -> [target]\BERLIN
[source] \LONDON -> [target]\LONDON

as result VV exchanegs the directorys, the program wants to copy everything from

\BERLIN to \LONDON

and yes, t have triple checked the associations - they are fine.
it does not make a difference, if i use H:\ to D:\ or use the root folders names BERLIN+LONDON. software does not compare the things which belong together.

i also deleted profile, created a new one -from scratch - same result.

any advice?

thx

Is there a way to provide you those data non-public?

was a windows problem - for an unknown reason, windows had linked both dirs together.

in list mode, the dirs showed the as-it-should-be content, if you switched to tree view, you could see that both dirs had been linked into one directory.

interesting part was, that you could see the error only in tree view mode.

to solve this, i did the safe way:
format backup disk, copy all from source, done.
