|

I've been using your VVPRO/VVEngine since late 1990's, I LOVE IT!
I was recently forced into Windows-10 due to a disk failure, and would
like to get all of my backups running. Unfortunately, some of the lists of
backups in VVPRO are populated with many lines of paths to backup, and,
because I have multiple drives to back up to the drive letters are all
different.
I tried at one point (not to long ago) to set some environment variables
such as $USB_E E:\, however VVPRO didn't understand the $USB_E.
Is it possible to do something like this with VVPRO so I don't have to edit
all of the scripts when disk letters change?
Thanks |

Hi, you can use the standard Windows Environment Variables in the source(s) and the target(s), but you need to use '<' instead of '%', due to the fact that '%' is a valid character for a folder name unlike '<'
Any Windows Environment Variable can be used as a folder variable, but '<' must be used instead of '%'.
For example:
%ALLUSERSPROFILE% becomes <ALLUSERSPROFILE>
%COMPUTERNAME% becomes <COMPUTERNAME>
%HOMEPATH% becomes <HOMEPATH>
%WINDIR% becomes <WINDIR>
etc. _________________ --
