Hi all,

I have Vice Versa PRO and VV Engine in place. I also have 12 profiles (12 ReadyNAS boxes) in place which I have already configured with Source and Target paths.

A initial copy has already been performed a few days ago so majority of the data is there in the target path.

Now I want to setup VV Engine so every evening at 08:00 PM, a scan is performed to check for any additions inside the Source and copy to the Target.

Can't post screenshots here for some reason.

Code:
Time Scheduling Run Every X Hours:  24 Start Time: 7/14/2016  08:00 PM Schedule Run Only If File Changes Are Detected in Source (ticked) Monitoring Level:  Full Rescan

Any help/advice is appreciated.

The files will most likely be word/excel documents and could be changes 2-3 folders deep.

Hopefully someone can help and I can have a test run tonight before our 09:00 PM backups.

I have emailed the support address with a bit more detail and screenshots.

I've no idea where this is going wrong.

When I run the profile, it says Successful, takes 5 secs, No files/folders copied or deleted. I click More Info, under Final Status there is a huge mismatch in totals in Source and Target.

Source 6 Files, 3 Subfolders.
Target 6,022 Files, 726 Subfolders.

Also, in ViceVersa PRO, under Execution I have Method set to Backup (Mirror Source to Target), is that correct?

Any ideas?

I have a feeling it could be the errors that is halting the compare.

1st attempt

[ERROR] ERROR: some data from file "\\192.168.101.10\data\~$ warning letter stage1.docx" could not be read. File may be in use by another application, it may be incorrectly stored on media or, if compressed/encrypted, it may contain errors. File will be excluded from comparison/execution.

I have added *~$* to my restrictions inside the ViceVersa profile.

2nd attempt

[ERROR] ERROR: some data from file "\\192.168.101.10\data\sickness self certification form.pdf" could not be read. File may be in use by another application, it may be incorrectly stored on media or, if compressed/encrypted, it may contain errors. File will be excluded from comparison/execution.

I cannot void *.pdf* as it's in use. But, I have checked 'Skip files in use', the setting doesn't seem to be working though, any clues?

I have tried 'Skip files in use', a combination of that plus 'Try to copy files that are in use by other applications', also 'Use volume shadow copy service to copy open files' with Source and Both. I still can't get past this error above.

Hopefully someone has some suggestions, seems like I'm close, just need to get open files ignored.

Leaving this here whilst I try to work on a solution. Any input welcome.

Finally, I've fixed the issue.

Today at 5:48:00 PM until 5:53:55 PM (5 min 55 sec) - (Manual Run) - Successful. (196 files and 9 folders copied, 36 files and 3 folders deleted)

It looks like a certain permission issue but I am currently logged into the server as a domain administrator? I had to use the Network feature under Folders, and select 'Connect using the following credentials' which was the same I am logged in as.

Is this all ok now, do I need to change anything for the scheduled job?

Also, under 'Connect using the following credentials' do I need to check 'Disconnect when done', surely when the job is complete it will disconnect from the source?
