Windows 8.1, trying to block backup of both pagefile.sys and swapfile.sys.

I use the button and try to select these files. I get the below error. I don't see why on it matters if it is currently in use. All we are doing is generating a string to be used when it runs, correct ? I can't be the first person to try to exclude backing the pagefile or another file which is in use.

[Window Title]
Select File for Filter

[Content]
pagefile.sys
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that’s open in another program.

[OK]

Yes, I am using the GUI to choose a file. It is complaining you can't exclude a file which is in use. What I pasted is the dialog box contents which VVersa pops up.

I don't usually exclude stuff which is open but when it starts backing up OS stuff it is unavoidable that it will be open when you try to select it.

I haven't tried just cutting and pasting the path in but why on earth is this dialog even checking that the file in in use ?
