VVEngine v2.1 Server Premium (Build 2104)
VVPro 2.5 Build 2513 64-bit
Windows 2008 R2
Is there additional verbose logging that can be enabled for troubleshooting? We have a profile that is not used very often. The profile monitors the source and runs at detection of changes. About once every 3-4 weeks files are put into the source for propagation to a target, but it consistently does not function properly. The user will instead manually copy the files. Seems to occur every time he uses it.
Today for example, 150 files were placed on source. VV reported 40 copied to target yet there were no files on the target.
When do my testing, I also sometimes see that VV ignores that I put in a new file. I have to disable and re-enable the profile for it to again begin working properly. But in my testing it works everytime after I re-enable. But again 3-4 weeks later when the user puts files there, those do not propagate properly.
Additionally, the server reboots weekly, so VVEngine Service is getting restarted weekly.
- Continue even if some source/target folders are inaccessible
- Create sources/targets that do not exist
- Network: connect to "\\xxxxx.server.com\" with user "vvuser" and disconnect when done
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
Execution
- Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Log only summary and errors
- No archive for deleted/replaced source files
- No archive for deleted/replaced target files
- Process Priority: Normal
- Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
- Copy file/folder permissions
- Do not copy file/folder data streams
- No empty source/target check
- Replace newer target files with older source files (backup only) |

Hi, are you using real-time monitoring in VVEngine? e.g. file level or folder level monitoring? Are you monitoring files over network or VPN? thanks _________________ --

It's folder level and we are using the "Backup" method, and Process Priority of "Normal." Monitoring is occurring over the LAN. |

Hi , is the issue that changes are not detected or that changes are detected and files are not copied over? In VVEngine (in the profile page / that is accessed via the browser) there's a section called "Detected Changes". Does that show the changes that are happening? thanks _________________ --

When this happens, it's normally been that changes have not been detected. In this particular instance, I don't know why it reported 40 files but there were 150 to move. And the target actually didn't actually receive anything.
When the user told me of the problem this week again, I put a file on the source to see if it would work. It didn't. I had to disable the profile and re-enable.
It is currently working when I test, but the experience has shown that at some point it will cease to function, and it's normally revealed at the time that the user needs it to work which is about every 3-4 weeks. Aside from my testing, files are not added or changed between the spans of time that the user adds his files. |
