I am looking at installing ViceVersa Pro server on a company server. The ViceVersa program will backup 3 SCADA HMI nodes to the server real time. The 3 SCADA nodes will also replicate specific folders to each other in real time. I also have 9 client nodes that will move any changes made on one of the SCADA nodes to the client nodes real time. If I have understood everything properly I will need one ViceVersa Pro server edition software and one ViceVersa scheduler software and one user license. Am I correct?

Hi, on which machines will you install ViceVersa and which machines will be involved in the synchronization, backup or replication? thanks!

the general licensing rule is:
- for installing on non-servers (win 10,8,7,Vista, etc): licensing is per-user of the software and each user can install and use ViceVersa PRO on up to 3 of his/her computers. Licenses cannot be shared across users.
- for installing on servers (win 2012,2008,2003,etc): licensing is per server and one license is needed for each server participating in the synchronization, backup, replication (regardless if they have ViceVersa installed or not).

thanks

Replicate/Backup/Synchronize 1 server to 12 PC (over LAN, VPN, other) with ViceVersa running on the server as a service. I will also be installing the VV scheduler on the server so that the system can Replicate/Backup/Synchronize in real time. The server is 2008 R2 64 bit.

Thank you, if you are installing and running ViceVersa on the server only and there are no other servers involved, then in that scenario you will need only one server license for ViceVersa and one for VVEngine. thanks
