I'm backing up to a network drive.
Some folders on the path have tens or hundreds of thousands of small files in them. I've excluded these using the folder filter feature. In fact I've whitelisted only a single folder name mask by excluding everything ("*") and then including only a single folder mask. There are at most a few hundred files in the folders that match that mask.
The scan runs fast enough on the local drive, omitting all the files in other folders, but on the network side it is taking forever, grinding through all the non-whitelisted folders as well.
Why is that? How can this behaviour be improved? |
