" Status Details: Folder monitoring initialization error. Max 16 folder(s) can be monitored in a single profile."
I use VVEngine to run my profiles. I have a profile that synchronizes 13 folder pairs between my two computers. I am running the latest versions of VVEngine and VVPro on both machines, and I have Windows 10 Pro on both machines. I have been successfully using this configuration since 2012 on Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10.
Recently, I have been getting the error above on the profile from VVEngine. The status column shows "Error" , and the Status Details shows the message above about "Max 16 . . ." As I said, there are only 13 folder pairs in the profile.
At first, the error would go away if I rebooted. Then rebooting did not help, but if I waited for a while, it would go away by itself, and the profile would run normally for a while. Now it seems it will not go away. I have restarted VVEngine, and I have removed the profile and then added it back to VVEngine. Nothing changed. Today I discovered that I can click "Show Compare" in VVEngine and it will do the compare. Then I can press Execute, and it will run the profile successfully! Also, I can open VVPro and load the profile and then run it successfully!
On my other computer, I ran a profile to mirror folders to my Network storage. About this same time, that profile began to exhibit the same error, even though it had fewer than 16 folder pairs. I split it in to two profiles, and they have been running without problems. I suppose I could split my synchronization profile and try that, but frankly I am sick and tired of this. This erratic behavior is eroding my confidence in this product, and being able to reliably synchronize my files is very important to me.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks. |

I did post the profile in question, but I got no reply, so I took it down because it had my name and other details of my file structure in it.
The problem still persists. Is there any new information on this?
