|
|
I am using the method Backup (Mirror Source to Target). I notice it deletes the files on the target before it starts the copy process. Is there a way to get it to delete afterward? I am copying a backup chain and the files are all dependent on one another. Deleting first leaves me with a broken backup chain until the copy job completes. Thanks! |

Makes sense. Thank you!
I also had the idea of archiving the deleted files and set them to remove copies older than 1 day. I could dig them out of the archive folder if needed. Do you think that would do what I am looking for? |

Hi, if you enable archiving then you will have a copy of all deleted / overwritten files should you need them. _________________ --

|
|
The problem with enabling archiving over a WAN is that all data needs to traverse the WAN to get copied to a folder on the remote computer. It takes too long.
Addressing your first suggestion... If I run two profiles with the second one effectively deleting the files there is still a chance I will be missing files. The problem is that the second job refreshes the file list. So once again it goes about deleting before it copies any new files that might have been created during the last job. Can I please request a feature to run the delete process at the end of the job (without refreshing the list)?
Thank,
Karl |

You would need to run ViceVersa and the profile on the remote computer for this.
I have logged a request to to run the delete process at the end of the job (without refreshing the list) after copying files for a future release.
thanks! _________________ --
