|
|
Hi, running windows 10 pro(64bit) and cant seem to get VVengine to run as a service.
The only error I get is
"StartServiceCtrlDispatcher failed, error code = 1063 , The service process could not connect to the service controller."
Tried running the batch file as admin, as well as executing the command from with an elevated cmd prompt
VVengine works ok from the web interface.
Any ideas? I really need this to run as a service if at all possible
Thanks |

Hi, I just tried on both Win 10 Home and Enterprise and it installs OK (under an admin account) . Can you see VVEngine in the list of services if you open the Service Console? thanks _________________ --

Hi
nope not there. The system was a fresh windows 7 ultimate install, upgraded from a win 10 DVD ISO. The only software running on it is plex and Norton internet security(already disabled it to see if it worked, which it didn't)
I have a few days in which I can revert back to windows 7 and try from there? |

Hi , try running:
C:\Program Files\VVEngine\serv\Service - UNINSTALL VVEngine as Service.bat
first and then
C:\Program Files\VVEngine\serv\Service - INSTALL VVEngine as Service.bat
Also what do you have in the file C:\Program Files\VVEngine\serv\vvengineservice.log ?

Hi
tried new installs of both windows 7 ultimate and windows 10 pro 64 bit, and still cant get it to run as a service. Both installs were on a new formatted drive with windows being fully patched and updated. No additional AV/firewall software was running.
Still the same error
Are they are any windows services, patches or DLL's etc I should be looking to see are missing or failing? |

Hi, what is the exact version of the two OS you installed please? I would like to install exactly the same on our test machine. Are you logged on under basic admin? thanks _________________ --

Windows Version: Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard 64bit
VVEngine Version: 2.1 Server Premium (Build 2106)
When I run the install*.bat I am logged in with a domain Administrator account and am running it from a command prompt that is started with the "Run As Administrator" option. |
